About the Library
The Max and Beatrice Krone Library supports the students, faculty and staff of the Idyllwild Arts community, promoting creativity and the pursuit of knowledge through accessible information resources, thoughtful programming, and thorough service. The Krone library fosters integrity and diversity while helping users to achieve their artistic and academic goals.
The Krone Library has over 22,000 books, DVDs, CDs, LPs, and music scores. A large portion of the collection is dedicated to the arts, but there are extensive reference and research materials as well. The Library also keeps up with current Young Adult Fiction. The Krone Library houses a computer lab, with state-of-the-art technology and a multi-media classroom, with a high definition projector and smart board. There is also a music lab that contains music composition and film scoring equipment and stations to listen to the 1,000s of LPs in the Library’s collection. The Library also contains the Krone Museum, which is dedicated to preserving the history of Idyllwild Arts and educating the community.
All members of the Idyllwild Arts Community, i.e. students, faculty, and staff, are expected to follow an honor system for checking out library materials. Please refer to the borrowing criteria in the table below.
There are no fines for overdue materials; however, if materials are not returned, the borrower will be charged for the replacement cost and a $15 processing fee for the lost material (please refer to the Claims Returned Policy below for the library’s policy about a borrower’s claim to have returned a missing item). There are no charges for damaged materials except in cases where the item would have to be replaced.

Processing time will depend on the lending library; allow up to 14 days for the completion of your request, but most requests can be filled within 7 days.
You can speed up the process by doing some of the pre-searching yourself; please include with your ILL request form a printout of the bibliographic record(s) for your requested item(s). Recommended online catalogs for California libraries are:
