Philadelphia-born/Los Angeles-based Foundation Relations Manager Andrew Kaiser has worked in arts philanthropy for more than 15 years. Over the course of his career, he has dedicated himself to advancing creative excellence and ensuring aspiring artists of all types and from all backgrounds have access to the training and tools they need to pursue sustainable livelihoods. Prior to joining Idyllwild Arts’ development team, Andrew flexed his fundraising muscles at the UCLA Hammer Museum, Art Center College of Design, and the International Documentary Association.
Among his recent accomplishments, Andrew secured major funding from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts to establish a new initiative that provides financial support, training, advocacy and access to legal and other resources for nonfiction filmmakers employing journalistic rigor and ethics in their reporting of today’s stories.
When he’s not catering to demands of his feline charges, Andrew enjoys exploring contemporary art museums and galleries; discovering new (and old) music; and spending time in nature, from a safe distance.
