Andrea earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Choreography and a Post-Baccalaureate in Education from Arizona State University. There, she was the student winner of the Arizona Choreography Competition in 2004. She danced professionally with Scorpius Dance Theater and Scandalesque Burlesque and was head of the Dance Department at Peoria High School in Arizona before moving to Los Angeles. In LA, Andrea performed her stand-up comedy at legendary venues such as the Hollywood Improv and the Comedy Store. An amateur chef, she appeared on season 5 of the Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race, coming in (spoiler alert) 2nd place in Key West, FL. Among blogging, writing, and performing either dance or theater, she currently hosts a comedy podcast geared toward women called “Inside the Box”. Andrea is a founding board member, National Honor Society for Dance Arts Committee Chair, and Director of Social Media for the non-profit dance advocacy organization, Kern Dance Alliance, based in Kern County, CA. She is thrilled to be continuing her career in Arts and Education with Idyllwild Arts.
