Inspiring Art in Young Children
Designed specifically for students ages 5-12, the Children's Center at Idyllwild Arts Summer Program provides a nurturing environment for young children to explore creativity and performance. Through individual guidance and support from professional artist-educators, students discover the joy of self-expression. Each program may run one or two weeks.
The summer workshops offered by the Children's Center are tailored to the general level of concentration and maturity found within this 5 to 12 age group. The Multi-Arts Day Program is for students 5-8 and the Children's Center Specialized classes are for ages 9-12. The Children's Center also gives students ample time to enjoy physical activities and recreation, including short hikes, pool parties and game nights.
The Children's Center faculty are skilled and experienced artist-educators who provide students with technical instruction balanced with strong encouragement to inspire creative solutions posed by artistic challenges.
The low student-to -teacher ratio — approximately 9:1 — ensures that students receive special individual attention to ignite a lasting passion for the arts.
