Why is it important?
The extraordinary programs and training we offer come with a high price tag. Tuition alone doesn’t come close to covering the cost of an Idyllwild Arts education - the only way we can maintain ourselves as a pillar of arts education is through the generosity of your donations. In order to operate the school, keep tuition affordable and offer financial aid to students who otherwise would be unable to attend, we rely on your Annual Fund gifts to cover the multi-million dollar gap between what we receive from tuition and what it actually costs to provide a stellar arts education.

What does my money go towards?
When you make a gift to the Annual Fund, you will be helping talented high school aged musicians and artists from all over the world - whose families could not afford the tuition - receive pre-professional training in seven different arts majors. You will be helping disadvantaged youths from inner cities attend summer programs in painting, theatre, music, dance, photography and much more. You will be helping to cover the cost of musical instruments, art supplies, salaries to attract the best teachers, free public performances, and essentials like electricity, food, and propane. Click here to read words of thanks from some of our recent scholarship recipients. 

How much money do you raise every year and how do you get it?
Most years, the gap between tuition and the actual cost of operating Idyllwild Arts is around 3 to 4 million dollars. Every year, faculty and staff, friends, alumni, board members, past parents, current parents, corporations and foundations and many others, are asked to make a gift to the Annual Fund to support our students and programs. While we do receive grants from Foundations each year, we rely on friends of Idyllwild Arts to cover a large portion of the Annual Fund. Your support could not be more important to us.

I can’t afford to give a lot of money. Does my gift matter?
Yes, your gift matters! Gifts of any size are greatly appreciated and make a difference to the students and programs here. It’s not just the amount of money we raise that we care about – it’s the participation rate from our donors. High rates of participation help us look good to potential major funders – so, please know that your gift of any amount will make a difference.
