Acting Emphasis
The Acting Emphasis offers dynamic preprofessional training in Theatre. Training is Stanislavski based and incorporates modern techniques to guide students toward greater self-awareness and knowledge of the potentials of their own resources. The program is geared toward the serious student actor allowing students to grow and experience disciplined training in performance, voice and speech, and stage movement, as exemplified in conservatory theatre training programs on the college level. After studying at the Idyllwild Arts Academy students have a deeper understanding of the work and the requirements of the craft of acting. Performance opportunities include mainstage productions ranging from classical, contemporary and musical theatre repertoire, plus black box Lab productions.
Individual college/conservatory counseling and exposure to the Unified College Auditions are offered to seniors in order to assist students in advanced training decision making.
