Braulio Alvarez '09

Braulio Alvarez began his dance studies at the age of 4 in Mexico City. He studied at Academia de Ballet del Pedregal for 11 years and in 2003 won a bronze medal at theNational Ballet Competition in Mexico. In September of 2005 he obtained a scholarship to study at Idyllwild Arts Academy, California. In June of 2006 he got the prize of the MOST DEDICATED STUDENT given by his teacher Jean-Marie Martz.

Julian Barnett '98

Julian Barnett is a New York based choreographer, teacher, and performer. Seeking to define his innate curiosity of undiscovered physical art, Julian began choreographing in 2005 and has since shared his interpretations internationally.Known for his highly physical and original works, Julian introduced his artistic voice through a sold-out season at New York's Joyce SoHo Theater in 2006.

Neal Beasley '00

Neal Beasley graduated from Idyllwild Arts Academy in the year 2000, and holds a BFA in dance from NYU/Tisch School of the Arts. From 2003-2007 he was a member of the Trisha Brown Dance Company, where he participated in the creation of several original works and acted as rehearsal assistant to Ms. Brown during her 2004 creation for the Paris Opera Ballet.

Bernard Brown '97

Bernard Brown has been seen dancing all over the country and the world throughout his career which spans over a decade. Most recently, he resided in Minneapolis, MN touring a dance musical, Anytown under the direction of Shapiro and Smith Dance and simultaneously dancing with upstart, TU Dance, directed by Toni Pierce-Sands & Uri Sands.

Reid Colton '03

Reid Colton began training with Philip Fuller in Los Angeles at the age of eight. As a student at Idyllwild Arts Academy, he attended summer sessions on scholarship with ABT, San Francisco Ballet and the Royal Ballet. He received a scholarship to the Post- Secondary Program of Canada’s National Ballet School, where he studied with Lindsay Fischer and where he had a piece choreographed on him by James Kudelka.

Andrew Cowan '02

Andrew Cowan was born in Southern California where he began his dance training at the Idyllwild Arts Academy (IAA). Andrew continued his dance training at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where he received a BFA in Dance. Andrew has performed in New York with various companies including WilliamsWorks and Keigwin+Co.

Lila Ann Dodge '05

In 2009, Lila Ann Dodge graduated with High Honors from Smith College, Northampton, MA, with a double major in Dance and American Studies. Her yearlong Honors thesis, "Site-specific dance: the place it takes," was an investigation of site-specific dance - as an historical phenomenon that bridges the 'art world' and the broader social domain; and as an approach to her own choreography.

Sho Ikushima '04

Sho Ikushima grew up in Tokyo, and at the age of 15, he moved to California to go to Idyllwild Arts Academy where he started his dance training. He graduated from New York University Tisch Schoolf of the Arts with BFA in dance in 2007. After graduation, Sho found his mentor. John Strasberg, and fell in love with the art of theatre, and has been studying acting intensely.

Annie Mallonee '03

Annie Mallonee, from Placerville, California, is in her fifth season with BalletMet after dancing with the company for one year as a trainee. Prior to joining the company, she trained on scholarship with BalletMet and was a recipient of the Lucy Porter Scholarship. She has also studied on scholarship with the Sacramento Ballet, Lines Ballet, and Idyllwild Arts Academy, where she graduated and was named Outstanding Dancer in 2003.

Tuere Tanee McCall '99

Tanee McCall attended Idyllwild Arts Academy for all four years of high school. After graduation she went on to study and graduate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Tanee is an actress-dancer who is mostly known for her appearance as the lead in music videos as well as her role as Toya in You Got Served.

Elliot Mercer '05

Elliot Gordon Mercer is a professional dancer, dramaturge, and dance scholar. He attended the Idyllwild Arts Academy and began dancing with Company C Contemporary Ballet upon graduation in 2005.  Professionally, Elliot has performed principal roles in works by such choreographers as Antony Tudor, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Paul Taylor, David Parsons, and Charles Anderson.

Nicholle Rochelle '99

Nicholle Rochelle trained in Los Angeles at Malibu Civic Ballet and Westside Academy of Dance before attending a prestigious boarding school, Idyllwild Arts Academy. She has completed all Royal Academy of Dancing exams with honors. In 1999, she was the first fully trained American to be awarded the Bronze Medal at London's Royal Academy of Dancing’s Adeline Geneé Awards.

Milan Valko '97

Born in Kosice, Slovakia, Milan Valko began dancing with Dance Studio "S" and continued training with the Dance Conservatory in Kosice, Slovakia. He spent his junior and senior years with Idyllwild Arts Academy after receiving a full scholarship from the Foundation for Civil Society and went on to become a semifinalist in the 9th Annual Spotlights Awards in Los Angeles, CA.
