Chicago Audition Trip
Congratulation to the 12 theatre seniors and 4 chaperones that survived the arctic Chicago weather in order to attend the Unified Theatre Auditions. These 12 students completed 105 auditions in 4 days. Approximately 35 colleges and conservatories attend this regional audition. The trip was not all work however as they were in Chicago when the Chicago Bears played the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl. Even the infamous Art Institute Lions got into the spirit of it all. The trip was a huge success and good luck to all as they now await the letters from the various schools. Thanks to Howard and Bonnie for the following photos of the group hanging out in their warm hotel room at Palmer House.

Fitzmaurice Voicework
On Monday afternoon, Catherine Fitzmaurice taught a Voice and Diction master class. Fitzmaurice Voicework explores the dynamics between body, breath, voice, the imagination, language and presence. It encourages vibrant voices that communicate intention and feeling without excess effort. Thank you to Vance for photographing this event!

Mask Characterization
This one semester course teaches a step-by-step acting process designed to stimulate and free the imagination. By putting greater emphasis on acting with the whole body, “masking” rids the actor of self-conscious mannerisms and allows the creation of fully dimensional characters. Thanks to Vance for the photos.
