Registration & Opening Concert
It was wonderful to see so many of you at registration this year! At this time, there are 103 boys—(by far the most ever) —and 166 girls, for a total of 269 students with 40 of those being day students. There are seventy-two Music majors, sixty-three Theatre majors, forty-three Visual Art students, twenty-seven Moving Pictures majors and twenty-seven Dancers, twenty-four Interdisciplinary Arts students and thirteen Creative Writers. We are so happy to have all of these students be a part of our family here in Idyllwild.

The opening meeting and concert Sunday evening was incredible, by far one of the best opening concerts we’ve had.

Ro-Sa Jang, Music, class of 2006.

Meredith Mantik, Creative Writing, class of 2006

Kaley Pruitt, Dance, class of 2006

A big thank you to all of the returning students who took part in making registration weekend and the concert a huge success.

Community Service Day
Tuesday, September 13 , was Community Service Day during which our students helped out at a variety of locations in Riverside County.

Our students wait in front of Bowman Arts Center to board the buses and vans to take them to their community service locations.

These locations were Care Connexus and Magnolia Rehab and Nursing - nursing homes for the elderly and disabled patients, the Forest Service stations in Big Bear and in Idyllwild, the Idyllwild Help Center - a local organization that serves those who need help in our community, Rutland Park, an outdoor beautification project, and the Salvation Army of Hemet.
Students were driven to these locations by faculty and staff members who also gave their time helping at the various locations. At Care Connexus and Magnolia Rehab, our students entertained residents with music and aided in arts and crafts.

At the Idyllwild Help Center our students helped with yard work, organized the food pantry, and sorted clothes and other items for the thrift store while at the Forest Service locations our students built bird boxes, and performed trail and campground maintenance.
