
Rob
Rutherford
Chair, Visual Art department/Painting and Drawing instructor
Rob has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University
of California, Berkeley and a Masters in Fine Art in painting
from Arizona State University. Rob has taught at Arizona
State and Cal State San Bernardino, Chaffey Community College
in Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernardino Valley College. He
has also taught workshops in Massachusetts, Mexico and at
the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, as well as the Idyllwild
Arts Summer Program. Exhibitions include solo shows in Arizona,
California and Oregon and various group shows throughout
the United States. Rob's work is a blend of many different
media, emphasizing the relationship between culture and
nature.

Mallory
Cremin
Photography instructor
Mallory has taught photography since 1992 at Cal State
San Bernardino, Chaffey College, University of Redlands
and other local colleges. She received her M.F.A. from
Arizona State University. Her work has been exhibited
across the country and is in the collections of the Center
for Creative Photography and the City of Mesa, among others.
Mallory's work specializes in printing with alternative
process emulsions on fabric and focus on environmental
issues.

Steve Hudson
Art History instructor/Director of the Krone Museum
Steve Hudson received his B.A. in English from California
State University, Long Beach in 1972. He has been at the
Idyllwild Arts Academy since its inception in 1985, teaching
a variety of courses, including American Literature, Western
Literature, U.S. History, Western History, World Cultures,
Mythology, Art History and Graphic Storytelling. He is
the Director the Krone Museum on the Idyllwild Arts campus
and has developed and presents “The Hand and the
Eye,” an arts education programs for children and
adults.

Eric Metzler
Photography, Portfolio/Gallery instructor
Eric holds a B.F.A. from California State University,
Northridge. He has attended workshops with internationally
known photographers including Cole Weston, George Tice,
Bruce Barnbaum and Ray McSavaney. Eric’s work for
the past decade has expanded into assemblage, mixed media
and found-object sculpture. His work has been exhibited
in galleries in San Diego, La Jolla, Laguna, San Francisco
and New York. Eric has been a full-time faculty member
at Idyllwild Arts Academy for thirteen years. In 1999,
one of Eric’s photography students won the Presidential
Arts Award for her photographic portfolio.

David Reid-Marr
Drawing/Sculpture instructor
David Reid-Marr graduated from the Royal College of Art,
London with a M.F.A. in painting and art history. He organized
and participated in many site-specific installations in
England and Wales before coming to the U.S. to study Zen
Buddhism. This led to an interest in the relationship
between religion and our perceptions, and to a series
of large format drawings, found-object sculpture and performance
work, which have been exhibited throughout the Western
U.S. He is an adjunct professor in a Master's program
at Cal. State San Bernardino, and has an abiding interest
in the theory and practice of alternative education.

Melissa Wilson
Computer Graphics Instructor
Melissa has been a graphic designer for over 20 years.
She graduated from the University of California, San Diego's
digital design program. In addition to teaching full time,
she stays busy running her own design company.
